Bridget Anzano

President

Email me

Bridget Anzano is a Sophomore studying Political Science and American Studies with a minor in Journalism & Mass Communications. She's from Hopewell, New Jersey (which is in Central Jersey because Central Jersey exists). She has a younger sister and two pet guinea pigs.

Her freshman year, she served as the Foggy Bottom Freshman Representative first semester and Chief of Staff second semester. Last spring, she interned for her Congresswoman, Bonnie Watson-Coleman (D-NJ-12), on Capitol Hill. This summer, she is interning in the Office of Governor Phil Murphy (NJ).

As a baby, she was held by Hillary Clinton, making her Hillary's honorary god-child. Also, one time she passed out at a Hillary Clinton rally and Joe Biden called her a medic. She's SO cool!

Please reach out to her or come to her office hours with any questions, concerns, or just to chat!

lindSay paulen

Executive Vice President

Email me

Lindsay Paulen is sophomore majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Journalism and Mass Communications. Even though she’s from Montville, New Jersey, Lindsay just says she lives 30 minutes from New York City because nobody knows where Montville is.

Lindsay served as the Foggy Bottom Freshman Representative her second semester freshman year and is so excited to be Executive Vice President this year. This summer, Lindsay interned on Mikie Sherrill’s congressional campaign, hoping to help flip her district from red to blue.

When she isn’t doing something related to Dems or in class, Lindsay can be found at Compass Coffee (the best coffee shop in D.C.), showing people pictures of her dog Lola or eating brunch.

Feel free to reach out to Lindsay with questions, concerns or just to grab coffee – she always loves a good excuse to go to Compass.

Ophir Cohen-Simayof

Vice President of Development

Email me

I’m from San Francisco — and yes, I lived in the city (not around). In high school I was involved in local politics, lobbying, and student journalism. I dealt with a lot of different groups asking a lot of different requests. Now in DC, I’m working for Ignite and the GW chapter. I’ve interned for Public Citizen and on the Hill for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee under ranking member Claire McCaskill (say that 5 times fast). And, of course, I’m involved with GWCD (duh).

I like to think of myself as the LinkedIn of GWCD. As the VP of Development, I directly deal with the broad reach of Dems as an organization by expanding our presence across DC (and beyond) and fundraising for our projects and other progressive causes. Whether it’s raising money for our campaign trips, connecting students with Alumni, or planning the Planned Parenthood Gala, I’m incredibly excited to work with all of our lovely young Democrats!

Alex beynon

Vice President of Membership

Email me

Alex is beyond pumped to serve as your VP of Membership for this year! He’s from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is currently majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Contemporary Cultures and Societies. When he’s not on the third floor of Gelman, you can catch Alex exploring the best food spots in Adams Morgan or making impulse purchases in Georgetown. One of Alex’s favorite experiences of the College Dems from last year was canvassing for Ralph Northam in Virginia and helping him secure the Governor’s seat. In addition to the College Democrats, Alex is involved with the club cross country team and his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta. He even interned over the summer for his state’s democratic committee!

Don’t hesitate to reach out to Alex at abeynon@gwu.edu if you have any questions about how to get involved in the Dems (or if you need any great brunch spot recommendations). He can’t wait to promote the progressive agenda with you this year!

She looks forward to continuing working with her team on these events to bring together Democrats from across the spectrum to get excited for what the party has to offer.

Yunny Seo

Email me

Yunny Seo is a Sophomore studying Political Science, Public Policy and Business Administration, Finance. Before serving as the Director of Campaigns, Yunny was the Director of Debates for the GW College Democrats. She also has experience interning on Capitol Hill for Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-02), working as a digital fellow for Gavin Newsom’s California gubernatorial race, and serving as the youngest New England campaign fellow on Hillary Clinton’s second Presidential campaign.

Sam Chuan

Multicultural Director

Email me

Samuel Chuan is glad to be serving as the Vice President of Multicultural Affairs for the 2018-2019 school year. Sam was fortunate enough to serve on the LGBTQ+ Affairs committee and then as the Senior Deputy Director of LGBTQ+ Affairs later that year. His goals for this year is to help make GW College Democrats move inclusive and welcoming for all types of people. He plans on working closely with the Multicultural Student Services Center (MSSC), Center for Student Engagement (CSE) and with multicultural and progressive organizations during the year. He wants to also work with local organizations to help bring in speakers to speak to the general body members about different intersectional and multicultural topics.

Sam is first generation Chinese-American and is openly transgender. Fun fact he is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been in 14 student productions. He is originally from Denville, NJ but he attended Mountain Lakes High School in Mountain Lakes, NJ. He is studying Criminal Justice with a minor in Biological Anthropology, which is a fancy way to say he likes studying bones and crime. He has interned for NAAAP DC, Lindsey Davis Stover for Congress, and this summer he is an intern for Fairfax County Democratic Committee.

Besides being in GW College Democrats he is in student theater (#STCunity), Delta Lambda Phi, Asian American Students Association, Students Against Sexual Assault, sometimes hikes and volunteers. In Dems, Fiona is your go-to for all things money. If you have questions about your dues, fundraising, or money requests, you can email her at fionawalsh@gwu.edu or text at (516) 998-6341. Don’t hesitate to contact her with any questions!

Lauren Bordeaux

Mount Vernon Freshmen Representative

Email me

Lauren Bordeaux is an International Affairs major with a Spanish minor. She is from Greenville, NC.  Lauren's political involvement began at the age of 7 when she campaigned alongside her parents for Senator Barack Obama.

First, she studied international affairs with Brown University in 2016 in Segovia, Spain. Also, she taught English to K-12 children in the Dominican Republic and teaches children in the summer at Horizons. She gained experience with legislature when she interned with Congressman G.K. Butterfield. All of her experience led to her coordinating and conducting the "March for Our Lives" rally on March 24, 2018. After, she founded Pitt County Youth for Justice and Change: a group of young people who engage in civil discourse with government officials and  public school boards focusing on racial profiling, de-facto segregation and school safety. She hopes to improve education for children all over the world and advocate for human and civil rights.

Lauren danced for fifteen years and hopes to continue dance at GW. She is involved with Reading Partners too. Feel free to contact Lauren or go to spin class with her! Fun fact: Lauren met and talked with Angela Davis!

Keith Nagy

Foggy Bottom Freshmen Representative

Email me

Keith Nagy is a freshman from Topeka, Kansas majoring in Political Science and double minoring in Public Policy and Law & Society. Outside of Dems, Keith is a policy intern at the National Audubon Society and a member of the Residence Hall Association. He has served as a page for both Democrats and Republicans in the Kansas Legislature, including State Senator Laura Kelly, the 2018 Democratic nominee for governor. Keith also worked on Paul Davis’s congressional campaign this past summer.

He is a big fan of the Obama family, as evidenced by the shrine in his household. However, being a diehard Veep fan, his favorite president is actually Selina Meyer (sorry Josiah Bartlett). Besides politics, Keith thrives off of eating Chipotle and listening to Disney music. He is very excited to serve as Foggy Bottom’s freshman representative. If you ever have any questions for Keith or maybe just wanna watch a John Mulaney special at 2 in the morning, always to feel free to reach out.
