Description

Join the GW College Democrats as we host activist Shaun King as our fall Kick-Off speaker to discuss the importance of turning talk into action. Shaun will talk about the resurgence of the civil rights movement in the modern social media age and the importance of not just speaking out against injustice, but the vital importance of speaking up for what you believe. With the 2018 midterms upon us and the current occupant of the oval office giving much of America real cause for concern, his talk will emphasize the importance of effective organization in coordinating students to be engaged in shaping the sort of politics they want to take part in.

This event is open to all GW students, staff, and alumni. Tickets are free and can be found at gwdems.org/tickets. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and you must bring your ticket.
